Smoothie Layered

2017-11-12

Early on, we realized green smoothies make awesome popsicles. We’ve specifically created these green smoothie ice pops so that they would fit in an octopops mold set without too much waste. Licking fingers is welcome!

These delicious ice pops are just one way we’ve discovered to get kids super excited about eating their spinach.

Ingredients

1 cup spinach
1 cup water
1 banana
1 cup chopped pineapple
1 cup raspberries
1 cup sliced peaches
1 cup strawberries

Method

Step 1

Blend 1/2 cup spinach, 1/2 cup water, half a banana, 1 cup chopped pineapple, and 1 cup sliced peaches together.

Step 2

Pour the green mixture into a pourable container and set aside.

Step 3

Blend 1/2 cup spinach, 1/2 cup water, half a banana, 1 cup raspberries, and 1 cup strawberries together.

Step 4

Pour the red mixture into octopops molds (one-third full) and freeze until very thick but not completely frozen (1 to 2 hours).

Step 5

Meanwhile, chill the green puree in the fridge.

Step 6

Once semifrozen, remove the pops from the freezer and pour the green puree into the molds.

Step 7

Once semifrozen, pull out and add the remaining pink layer.

Step 8

Continue freezing for 4 to 5 hours, or until completely firm.
